The large search dial is great for navigating vast amounts of media to find the desired video clip. NTSC, PAL, 720p, and 1080p video files in ProRes, DNx, and H.264 formats are supported. HDMI enables the connection of switches, cameras, and displays. SD cards, UHS-II cards, and USB-C external disks can be utilized to record and play media. The HyperDeck Shuttle HD is an appropriate media player because it shares the same design as the ATEM Mini Extreme. It even includes a teleprompter.

HyperDeck Shuttle HD Features:

  • Compact desktop design.
  • Traditional broadcast deck controls with a large search dial.
  • Records to SD cards, UHS-II cards, and external USB-C media disks.
  • Records direct to external USB-C media disks.
  • Records standard H.264, ProRes, and DNx files.
  • Supports latest broadcast technology connections.
  • 1G Ethernet for fast file upload.
  • Powerful operating system with menus overlaid on the video output.

Elegantly Designed
HyperDeck Shuttle HD is ideal for use on a PC. This means you can operate the front panel with just one hand! Your hand may rest on the search dial thanks to the soft angle, and the control buttons are right at your fingertips. Because the design is the same depth and angle as ATEM Mini Extreme, they go together flawlessly! Because the machined metal search dial has natural inertia, scrolling media is quick, and the soft rubber surface is pleasant to the touch. When you're looking through a lot of media, this is ideal. Furthermore, the buttons are designed similarly to those seen on standard broadcast decks. All video, power, network, and control connections are located on the back panel.

Mastering Recorder
With support for H.264, ProRes and DNx files, you can record true broadcast masters! You can even select between PCM or AAC audio. That's perfect for higher quality mastering when used with ATEM Mini switchers. You get everything needed to send shows to broadcasters and for uploading to YouTube.

Media Player
The large search dial lets you visually browse your clip library. Then you can use the previous clip button to cue to the start of the clip. After playing, you can use the clip button to stop the playback at the end of the clip. ATEM switchers can even remote control HyperDeck Shuttle via Ethernet!

Traditional Broadcast Deck Controls
HyperDeck Shuttle includes a control panel that's very fast to use. The buttons are similar to a traditional broadcast deck. Simply press the record button and you instantly start recording the video input to a file! It will record in the file format that has been set in the record menu. There are other buttons for playback, to cue to the start of the clip and to move to the next clip. The buttons have been custom designed by Blackmagic Design for the highest quality. The large machined metal search dial supports shuttle, jog and scroll so you can find clips fast. Plus all deck control functions can be triggered remotely using the Ethernet network.

SD Cards and UHS-II Cards
HyperDeck Shuttle can record to standard SD and UHS-II cards, eliminating the need for costly bespoke media. Because SD cards are compact and inexpensive, they are an excellent choice for broadcast media. Furthermore, you can record to external USB devices! If you utilize a USB hub or a Blackmagic MultiDock with USB drives, you can even record on numerous disks for nonstop recording! When utilizing H.264, the files are so little that even on low-cost cards, you can get quite long recordings. On a 1 TB card, you can record up to 157 hours of H.264 at 1080p59.94. On a single 1 TB card, that's over 6 days of HD recording.

Record to External USB-C Media Disks
If you need to record to other types of media, you can use the USB-C extension port to connect an external flash drive. Because USB-C flash drives can be physically larger than an SD card or SSD, they have a limitless capacity. Furthermore, you can record to a disk array that will be used for editing, eliminating the need to waste time copying files before beginning post-production. Simply connect the disk to a computer and begin editing right away! You can also add a Blackmagic MultiDock 10G with four separate SSD media slots to the HyperDeck Shuttle to make it compatible with SSD media! In the settings menu, there are also options for handling external disks.

Popular ProRes, DNx, and H.264 Files
The most prevalent codecs in use today are supported by HyperDeck Shuttle HD! The DNx and ProRes file formats are broadcast quality. When recording in NTSC, PAL, 720p, 1080p, and even real 1080i interlaced formats, however, you get space-saving H.264. This translates to compression ratios of 60:1 to 285:1 for very small files at full broadcast quality. Additionally, when uploading files to YouTube, you have the option of using uncompressed PCM audio or even AAC audio. ExFAT for Windows and HFS+ for Mac disk formatting standards are supported by HyperDeck Shuttle HD, allowing disks to be mounted and read on both platforms. You'll also be able to record multiple occurrences into a single video file.
